Trim Size & Gutter Margins

Amazon requires specific inside gutter margins ranging from 0.375" for under 150 pages to 0.875" for 700+ pages. Outside margins must maintain at least 0.25" safe clearance from page boundaries to prevent text truncation during bindery trimming.

300 DPI Print Resolution

All raster artwork and paperback cover files must render at 300 DPI minimum. Low-resolution images (such as 72 DPI web graphics) trigger automated quality warnings or visible pixelation in physical print runs.

Spine Width & 130-Page Rule

Spine text is strictly prohibited by Amazon on paperbacks with fewer than 130 pages. For books above 130 pages, spine width must be calculated precisely based on paper type (White: 0.002252", Cream: 0.0025", Color: 0.002347").
